  • Profile:

VKB Ltd. Is the R&D subsidiary of VKB  and is based in Israel. VKB Ltd is a SME and employs engineers and scientists in the fields of physics, optics, electronics, software and mechanics. VKB was first funded and established in 2000 and has developed a variety of intelligent optical input and output technologies. VKB’s technology is embodied in a range of low-cost infra-red sensor modules with an intelligent, embedded processing algorithm for detecting and monitoring human interactions mainly within a two dimensional plane. These miniature modules can incorporate an infra-red illumination source, a CMOS sensing array and an application specific algorithm. The modules replace complex machine vision systems, sensors or in a Consumer environment simply provide a “virtual” keyboard, displaying a full size Qwerty keyboard onto any flat surface and detecting keystrokes on the “virtual” keyboard.

    Role:

VKB will develop the optical parts of ISIT’s MEMS mirror and merge it with VKB’s detecting system.within WP5 and validate the virtual optical user interface. In WP7 VKB will develop two major demonstrations

    1. a keyboard with a dynamic reconfigurable layout and
    2. a virtual touch screen. In addition VKB will take part in specifing integration methods and protocols for the AmI user interfaces.
